Worcestershire top county for pampered pooches

Silver Service & Dog Butler
Pampering is dish of the day for dogs visiting Worcestershire – fast becoming the top UK destination for those who want to take a break and bring their furry friend along.
Now Visit Worcestershire has launched a complete guide to dog-friendly places in Worcestershire on their website
www.visitworcestershire.org/pets
To celebrate the launch – ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ star and Worcestershire girl, Pippa Langhorne, has become the county’s pet-friendly ambassador and will be treating her singing dog and partner, Buddy, to a slap-up meal, celebrity style!
Commenting on her involvement, Simon Tipple, manager of Destination Worcestershire said:
“Pippa is the perfect representative for our pet-loving county. Her appearance on the show has helped put Worcestershire on the map as the place for dog lovers.”
Worcestershire has over 100 pet-friendly places to stay ranging from campsites through to luxury hotels. With hundreds of miles of stunning countryside walks including the breath-taking Malvern Hills as well as the River Severn, Worcestershire is a great place for the whole family including the dog.
One Worcestershire hotel, The Riverside, could be described as The Ritz for dogs. It has an ‘haute cuisine’ dinner menu created by hotel chef Rico Pecho in conjunction with nutritionists from the Dog’s Trust. Using only the best regional produce, the menu offers starters, entrees and even something for the dog with a sweet tooth.
What’s more, dogs can experience the ultimate in service thanks to their own butler who will deliver meals to their room! The hotel even has two very special dog bedrooms with doors leading out to the lawn so those important calls of nature can be dealt with immediately.
“Worcestershire has a long canine history and we even have lots of streets named after dogs” added Simon. “Our original coat of arms also featured a dog within it so it’s fitting that we’re getting a reputation for being one of the best places for a short break if you want to bring your family pet with you”.
